Medical microneedling is a treatment designed to improve and enhance skin complexion by activating the skin’s natural regenerative process and stimulating the production of collagen.
EXCEED medical microneedling uses expert precision, technique and timing to trigger growth factors to build new collagen. This is achieved with very fine needles that penetrate the top layer of the skin causing localized and controlled damage that triggers the wound healing response stimulating the fibroblasts and producing healthy collagen.
Medical microneedling is far more effective and less invasive and expensive than other skincare treatments. It is a relatively quick treatment with minimal downtime. After a course of treatments the skin in visibly rejuvenated, replenished, revitalised and regenerated.
EXCEED by Amiea Med is a medical microneedling device that is clinically proven to reduce wrinkles and treat acne scarring by reducing the depth of scars and normalizing the skin structure.
What Does the Treatment Involve?
The skin will be thoroughly cleansed to prepare for the treatment. The needling process is relatively painless as the needles only penetrate the top layer of skin, plus the depth and speed of penetration can be adjusted based on your level of comfort, ensuring a great experience with optimal results.
Immediately after your treatment there will be visible redness on the area, we will apply an Epi Nouvelle Naturelle mask to cool and calm the skin, and reduce inflammation. This mask can be taken home and used for up to 4 hrs after your treatment. Most inflammation will be gone one day after the procedure. In the days following treatment it is important to avoid direct sunlight, but it is possible to go back to work immediately after.
How Often Should You Have a Microneedling Treatment?
The frequency & number of treatments will depend on your skin type and condition, and what you are wanting to achieve. Generally most clients will require 3-6 treatments 4-8 weeks apart, followed by a maintenance plan to sustain your results.
IPL (Intense Pulsed Light) is a light-based treatment that is effective in treating brown pigmentation caused by sun damage, redness and capillaries, as well as stimulating collagen production.
When treating pigmentation the dark area absorbs the light and heats the pigmentation. This heat then breaks down the pigmentation into tiny particles which will come to the skins surface as scabs, and then exfoliate away naturally within 1-2 weeks.
When treating capillaries and areas of redness the light is absorbed by the oxyhaemoglobin in the blood within the capillaries. The heat causes the blood to coagulate, and the capillaries to break down into particles that are then naturally filtered away through the bodies lymphatic system.
IPL can also be used to as an anti-aging treatment as the light stimulates collagen production, resulting in more youthful skin.
Treatments can take between 15-60 minuted depending on the treatment area and may require a course of treatments to obtain optimal results. After IPL there is minimal downtime, the skin may look red and be slightly swollen, this can be covered with makeup immediately if you would like.
It is extremely important to protect the skin from the sun before and after treatment. Wearing sunscreen daily is a must to prevent damage to the skin.
A consultation is required prior to treatment to ensure IPL is the correct treatment for you.
